Vicodin is a commercial, prescription form of Hydrocodone. It comes in a white tablet form with the name Vicodin imprinted on its side. Vicodin is painkiller, designed to relieve severe pain.  This type of pain normally occurs after surgery or an serious injury. Vicodin is a schedule III drug because it is highly psychologically addictive, and also moderately physically addictive. 

Vicodin cannot be combine with many substances, including alcohol. The combination of the drowsiness and sedation produced by both drugs can cause unconsciousness and even death.  Vicodin can also make an alcohol problem worse.  Vicodin can also have adverse affects on unborn children.  There is always a risk of overdose with Vicodin use. Vicodin depresses the central nervous system. It creates a euphoria and a drowsiness simultaneously.  Individuals who use Vicodin sometimes describe its effects as peaceful and serene.
